Great article. My favorite part was the fact that they are already working on new music. ❤️

  8. Pretty crazy people will get to listen to this in two days. Very curious to see what people think. I was a little surprised by the MCS comments last week, seemed like mostly positive, but more of a mixed bag than I think I expected.

I was surprised by the MCS comments as well. I'm sure people will find something to complain or dislike about this album too, but my excitement is through the roof. Can't believe we are two days away from a new TSL album.

    this is all there is

I'm trying so hard to not be overhyped and end up possibly disappointed - but god damn I am so ready and hopeful for this.

The singles so far are fantastic, they'll killing it live more than ever, they seem like such nice and genuine dudes, and I am really just so excited for them to get the attention they really deserve as some of the best in the genre.

I've been waiting for a new TSL LP for almost 20 years. It might be unintentional, but I'm trying not to mistake your silence and no early thoughts for lack of enthusiasm. I think you said in the supporters thread that it was a little samey throughout.

Very hyped to hear every song, obviously, but this had me extra hyped to hear Blame.

  13. That is ... not how I would describe the song haha. It doesn't sound that different than the live videos of it are.

Interesting. I saw it performed live in December of 2023 but do not remember it haha. I never watched a recording online so excited to hear it for essentially the first time Friday morning.

And that's why you always leave a note.

Got invited to see a pretty unique show tomorrow night, with Kenny performing a bunch of these songs acoustically near the Catskills in NY and I'm so pumped. Crossing my fingers he'll have vinyls for sale a day early.

The MCS record is probably my favorite thing they've put out since EIIKM. It's been on repeat for days.

John // OC now, OH forever.

I feel like there's no way to fairly compare a new record by this band to something they released 20+ years ago. I mean, there's a reason why I tend to go back to records I loved in 2004 - there's an emotional connection to some of those songs from back then. That's why anniversary tours do so well, we're all trying to chase down that feeling again. I'm guilty of not really giving newer records by some of those legacy bands a chance because I don't have that connection to them that I do with the old material.

There are of course exceptions to this and even a few bands whose newer material I connect with far better than I do their old; The Wonder Years are this for me, I enjoy their last three records a lot more than I do their first three. NFG are the exact opposite.

I'm hopeful that TSL are more the former than the latter; only having three albums from them and almost nothing new in the last 20 years sort of lets me listen with fresh ears. The two singles they've put out sound nothing like SILYMI, but I figure that's intentional from a band that already wrote a song telling us how they weren't that band anymore and then named a whole DVD after it.

Feel like the band has only gotten better with each release so I’m stoked for this.

Curious on what you think Jason about the record as a whole now it has been a while since initial impressions?

I haven’t paid attention to the MCS comments, but wtf. It’s a perfect comeback album from them. Their most consistent in 15 years, at least. Instant classic, imo. I’ve been addicted to it.
