We had 2. Which is pretty good, we live in an apartment and most of the time get none. One year I think we got six and I was stoked.
We had two solid hours of trick-or-treaters from 6-8, then it died. About 500 pieces, usually 2-3 per kid.
I've already seen a bunch of halloween decorations at bed bath & beyond and michaels. Keeping an eye out for the pumpkin reeses. I usually don't care for candy, but it's an initiation every year to get some when I first spot them.
This is the first year in some time I'm not making some custom decoration for my yard. A little bit unmotivated, a little bit no idea what to build.
The reeses' halloween editions are now in stores. Saw a couple at Lowes Foods last week. Spirit Halloween stores are also beginning to open
Pottery Barn and Home Goods sent the bat signal to my wife that Halloween stuff is available and now I’m about to be bankrupt.
Ohhhhh mannnn, buckle up, it’s SO good. I didn’t get to go last year which means I should probably buy a ticket today too.
Oh man, I might have to make a trip up there. @wisdomfordebris anything else in the area worth checking out? Maybe I'll stop by Salem (never done it before) on the way.
Spooky World is about 50 mins from Haunted Overload. It's fun, they have a hayride, but the event itself used to be better and I haven't been in a few years. It looks like this year they are only doing three houses and a hayride so I don't know if I would recommend it anymore
It’s not worth a special trip to Salem, but if you do come to town, Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery is great and one of my favorite places to visit every year. You’re in and out in 10-15 minutes but it’s a nice monster museum.
I've never heard of Haunted Overload before and it's only like 45mins from me, might need to try and check it out. Has anyone done it during the day to know if it's ok for kids?
I went to this one last year, the production design was incredible. Make sure you give yourself space from the group before you— unfortunately spoiled all of the actors/scares because the cadence of groups going through was a little off. But still, was able to appreciate the whole thing. A couple years ago I decided I was going to try and visit a haunted attraction once a year in a different state, so this year I’m gonna check out Headless Horseman in New York. Really looking forward to it.
For the When We Were Young Fest trip I wanted to check out Freakling Bros haunted houses in Las Vegas, i'm hoping they bring it back this year
