The entire intervention scene is the funniest of the series, but particularly Paulie’s look when Adriana says that the drugs mean Christopher can no longer function as a man
Tony: Jun, how was Boca? Jun: Wonderful! I don't go down enough. Carmella: lol that's not what I heard.
Just finished watching the series for the first time, and now I feel adrift. Excited to read discussion online now that I don't have to be weary of spoilers (even though a huge portion of the show was spoiled for me because I was sent one Sopranos meme and that sent my algorithm into attack mode.)
“I’m supposed to get a vasectomy when this is my male heir?” “So what no fucking Ziti now?” The latter hits close to home too because that is what I think every day unless there is Ziti
Caught the Talking Sopranos show in the UK last Sunday. Enjoyable experience with lots of great stories in particular about Gandolfini and Sirico so it was quite an emotional night. Michael Imperioli a far better speaker, Steve more shall we say casual. Hour or so of set questions followed by 20 audience Q&A. Both preceded by a montage with lots of laughing and cheering. Official photo from the night
I’m in the home stretch of my first watch through. HBO skipped over season 6, episode 18 and took me straight to episode 19 which starts off right away with people saying “it’s a shame what happened to Christopher”. So that was annoying, but I was still surprised at how early in episode 18 it happens when I went back to it though. It’s a pretty well done scene. At first it almost feels like Tony is killing him to put him out of his misery (both from the accident and his addiction), but then Tony reveals how self interested and cruel it actually was. Chris’s wake being the same day as Pauli’s mom/aunt was a nice little way to cap off their rivalry.
That’s really shitty HBO basically spoiled it for you. But anyway, that’s an all timer episode front to back
The IMDb forums had spoiled it about a week before the episode aired but it was still shocking to see it actually happen.
that last season is basically perfect front to back, maybe the most insane run of episodes I can think of in TV. I've said my piece Chrissy
I don't think there was any stretch in this show where I lost interest. Glad it went six seasons and ended on a high note. Too many shows go way past their expiration date
6A suffers in parts because of the decision to stretch out the final season. They literally just do the war with the New York story twice.
I think the Vito storyline is fine. It's another example of how there is no escape from this life. I also love the coma dream episodes of 6A. So I am net positive on that part of season 6.
The Vito storyline really gets to a lot of homophobia and its natural hypocrisy. It is a male-only organization that literally makes you swear that they come before your own wife, and they have a carveout for prison sex, but the second you cross the line it is the worst thing you can do to them.
