Season three was pretty great all around. The rape episode was perhaps the most upsetting thing I’ve seen on television. The whole season really dug into how horrible men are to the women in their lives. Tony once again cheating on Carmela and not thinking about Gloria’s emotional state before starting the affair. Ralph (god damn is the most hateable character) kills the stripper after emotionally abusing her. Jackie cheats on Meadow. Even Meadow’s college boyfriend seems to only sleep with her as a way to get back at the racist remarks Tony made. Even the men in Dr. Melfi’s life seem to have more damaged ego’s than actual sympathy for her.
Noah immediately dumps Meadow when his father disapproves of her even after she went to war with her own family. It is the beginning of the end of her idealism.
Reader context on that one says otherwise haha That being said, that's wild that his brother is a priest lol
Watched the season go it finale last night. It was so cathartic to see Carmela finally blow up and leave Tony.
Just got to pine barrens on my rewatch and Chris not knowing the Cuban missile crisis was real is absolutely perfect.
Their overall stupidity is the gift that keeps on giving. Tony's semester and a half at junior college makes him the brains of the group.
I still love how Silvio thought the producer of The Simpsons died on the toilet, mistaking him for real life Hollywood producer Don Simpson who died early from his substance abuse lifestyle.
The bump of this thread now makes me want to do another rewatch haha. Can't believe it took me till like 2 or 3 years ago to finally watch it for the first time
It is all half-remembered anecdotes and third-hand stories with these guys. None of them are going to go on Wikipedia and double check something.
The characters mispronouncing stuff like Mario and Pokémon is 100 percent accurate to adults of that era.
Isn't that just how New Yorkers and New Jerseyans pronounce Mario in general (Mary-oh)? I knew someone from Long Island who said Mario that way, and a Nintendo YouTuber I watch haha. Both people in their early 30s. It is quite distracting though
It is partly accent but it is also the way adults will intentionally mispronounce things to act like they're above it.
Buscemi's character background is probably the worst retcon in the show, but the plotline of the season does help to build up to the ending.
