It's a shame Sirico didn't break out until so late in life. The way he completely shifts gears when he finds out that Finn is dating Meadow is comedic gold.
There was a meme that dropped Finn and Vito into the big battle at the end of Attack of the Clones and you can barely tell the difference.
Lol I was watching that interview and apparently James and Michael got wicked drunk on set and the crew chained up their legs because they were filming a scene throwing a character off a cliff and they were afraid they would fall off
The show had some amazing closing songs, but 4th of July by X is near the top. It plays when Vito first gets to New Hampshire, and for that brief moment you hope he got away and will be able to find himaelf.
Just seeing your post now but I love that song. Perfect bbq song to put on even though from what I gather from the lyrics is that it’s about a failed relationship. Also, my gf and I were at a bar on July 4th so of course I played that song on a TouchTunes
Just started watching this. Five episodes in. I’m surprised by it having kind of a story of the week feel. There are plot threads that carry over, but each episode also feels somewhat self contained so far.
season 1 is a very different beast from the rest of the show, albeit still really good. I don't really think you get a glimpse of what it becomes until the s1 finale
Season 1 and 2 are much more plot-heavy. There were events that happened outside of the show before Season Three and then 9/11 before Season Four that really affects the tone.
If I recall correctly they weren’t confident of the show getting more than one season so they created something that was somewhat complete in one season.
That is pretty common. It can be a problem with shows with marginal ratings because every season could be their last. Really successful shows get that freedom to know they will keep coming back.
It’s a funnier show than I expected too. The Kundun line killed me. it’s also wild that James Gandolfini was only five years older than Michael Imperioli. It looks like there’s a 20 year difference between them.
Absolutely one of the funniest. The blend of humor and darkness is the best I’ve ever seen hands-down.
"cunnilingus and psychiatry brought us to this" is one of the funniest lines of dialogue ever written
I always liked the stigmata one because that film had just come out and it really accurately shows how culture blends in our memory.
