Did they ever do a skit where Tony is like a preschool teacher or something because sometimes this show feels like giving preschoolers guns and Tony has to manage them all
Every time I think I'm going to enjoy a death because I dislike the character, it's so brutal that what I thought would be satisfying is just me cringing.
I know I didn't grow up in the mob environment where the benefits are tempting and lucrative and a status symbol, but it's hard to see why anyone would wanna join. Everyone dies. Even the older made guys. Everyone screws up at some point and gets got. I guess they all think it won't happen to them, but the show does a good job of making me think wtf why does anyone join and think they'll be different? Even Ade who was more tangentially involved can't get away unscathed. Honestly Chris should've prepped her better for what to do if/when the feds got to her. Carmella seems super confident in what to do and how to handle it but Ade was so caught off guard and naive. Like the coke charges they had on her was nothing, but she was so freaked she agreed and dug a bigger hole.
They tend to not be very smart and see it as a way to get rich. It's the same logic as drug dealers. They think they will somehow avoid the consequences.
feels like in this show at least most of them are grandfathered in as well and pretty much never had a real choice about it. look what happens when Chrissy tries to leave
The one thing that rings mostly false is how many people die versus how many people go to jail. If you look up the modern crime families there is always a few levels of official leaders in jail.
Has SNL or anything made a sketch of if the sopranos existed now with CCTV and Ring doorbells and dash cams and smart phones. Why isn't the mafia like funneling cash into more anti-privacy legislature? Tony was already so cautious with the tech of the time, he'd have even more panic attacks in 2024
It gets worse as he gains weight as the show goes on. The pressure of that role unfortunately killed Gandolfini.
whenever my cat is really happy and practically snoring while he's awake, I call him Season 5 Tony Soprano
It’s really sad knowing how good of a man he was and the kind of shit he’d do to get in character. It’s been said he’d intentionally hurt himself at times.
Everyone on that show had good things to say about him. If you see photos from the cast arriving to the funeral you can tell how genuine it really was.
