4 episodes left on my first ever viewing of this and man it's so good. S6 feels like a completely different show though and characters feel different? Tony is way more brutal and uncaring in this season. Also not a fan of how they kind of gave up on developing the therapist's character and she just became this generic counselor who asks 5 word questions for like 2-3 minutes.
Tony's turn really starts around season four but by the midpoint of season six he has been forced to kill Blundetto, his uncle and father figure is dead to him, and Christopher has been a disappointment to him. Pretty much everyone has let him down, and now that his kids are older, he is finding less and less satisfaction in his personal life.
"I'm just gonna grab the Barenaked Ladies CD and then let's hit the road" is the best Sopranos quote so far.
Omg the blatant Office Depot placement in S3E2 has me dying This show is a joy for many unexpected reasons. Edit: my usage of "Hey, I'm walking here!" In a bad accent has risen approximately 150% since starting the show.
Honestly, and ngl anytime a lil vigilante justice moment comes up I'm like "go Tony, go! Tell Tony, he'll take care of it!"
Also I'm hoping Janice gets less annoying. Her role isn't prominent enough to bring down the show or anything. But her pattern of causing problems, never acknowledging her own accountability for it, plotting against Tony a lot, but then expecting him to bail her out when she's in over her head is not the move. I totally understand how it's a fairly understandable trauma response to her upbringing but SIS cmon
Look, sometimes I don't have enough time to wash and blow dry my bangs and there could be some srsly crazy things happening underneath my hat. But I learned that lesson once during an emergency court hearing where I didn't expect to go that day and you can't wear hats in a courtroom and everyone got to see my shame and wild bangs. Once the individual has committed to the hat and hat hair has become a problem, imo that excuses hat wearing for the remainder of the day, regardless of the situation!
Rewatching with my boyfriend since he’s never seen it, and now I can’t stop saying pleurisy instead of plural in everyday conversations.
Janice is one of the best characters. She is the perfect representation of a complete selfish scumbag.
The dinner scene discussing the carnival ride, with Janice immediately touching her neck and Tony telling her to stop, is such a good lived in moment. These are people who know the mannerisms only close family can.
Lol, Tony is obviously not a good guy but I think I've said it before, I adopted just a little of his bravado while I was watching the show (was in a really toxic work environment at the time) and it did wonders for my anxiety
