A few of my close friends have watched it, but with the general public, it just depends I'm 24. This show started airing when I was 6? It ended when I was 13? I was a freak child, obsessed with pop culture, who didn't watch cartoons, so I knew what it was. But most of my peers were still watching Disney channel at that stage. They weren't cognizant of the cultural importance of the show. Most people our age legitimately won't watch it because it's "old" and they opt for shows geared at them.
Haha, no, of course. I get the point you’re making. Just have to be the guy who’s like “not all millenials are bad”. :P
You guys got me rewatching the last couple seasons again. After watching this show for years on years, Carmella is definitely the superior acting job. I suppose Tony comes in second??
[Tony and Carmela are arguing during their joint therapy session] Dr. Melfi: You're both very angry. Tony Soprano: Yeah, you must have been at the top of your fuckin' class. Lmaoo this had me dying
I loved the other night from Sil: "If you're ever being chased by a bear, run down hill. For some reason, they can't do that."
Long Term Parking... Ugh ugh ugh. 3rd time seeing it and I'm shaking and sick to my stomach. What an episode.
and what makes that episode so much better is when they revisit/reveal chris/tonys conversation in the basement during that episode early season 6.
Chris is my favorite character but filled with flaws. Seeing him nearly choke Adrianna to death is always tough to watch
I always tell my friends about this show but I know they'll never watch it lol. Which I kinda get, I'd been hearing about this show for a long time before I finally gave it a shot.
Just started my initial viewing this morning. I’m on episode 3, how fucking stupid is Chris for associating himself with this toolbox Brendan?
Lol the constant referencing of Janice’s poor cooking skills is so great. Also AJ provides so much comic relief in seasons 3 and 4, like when Tony starts questioning him about whether he was out in the yard in the last few days and AJ is just like “Alright I’m going upstairs”. Or when Tony takes him to Newark to show him a church that’s been standing for hundreds of years that was built by Italians, meanwhile the other buildings in the area are falling apart, and Tony asks AJ why he thinks the church is still standing. AJ thinks for a minute and goes, “The bricks?” Also just how generally grumpy he is about having to do anything at all, like when Carmella takes him to Furio’s house a few times. “Why am I always having to come here?”
janice gets a lot of shit but i think she's a terrific character. she's so constantly and transparently self-servingly toxic, it's a great foil to Tony's need to protect and control, Barb's absence, and Livia's impact
I remember during my first watch of season 2, when she killed Richie I loudly yelled in surprise at the screen.
lol i just thought of the scene where AJ works in blockbuster and he and his friend are just watching a movie ignoring the woman and her baby at the counter and theyre just dropping F bombs like its nothing, and shes like "helloo???"
I've never seen the show before and obviously heard about the ending years ago, so I started watching it the other day and watched the first three and haven't gone back to it. I wish I could force myself to watch it, but I was so bored :\ Mad Men is my favorite show, so I was so sure I'd love this right away, but I'm bummed that I don't.
I'm glad I didn't stop like that with Mad Men because the first 5 or so episodes were abysmally boring
I just finished “College” and I feel like that was one of the strongest hours of television I’ve ever seen. That was a superb episode.
