Just finished the 6A finale. Relatively benign episode, even with Phil Leotardo being in the hospital. So weird seeing AJ dating someone with a kid, I didn't think he had it in him. And yikes, Chris is spiraling once again.
6B is some of the best television you will ever watch in your life. Well, so is every season, but still. Some real incredible stuff in the back half
Hot damn, that started out intense. The fight between Bobby and Tony had been building up for so long. Felt like a bottle episode, which only made it more riveting. Instantly one of the best episodes. Also wtf with AJ's facial hair, it's terrible lol
At least A.J. is true to himself. Meadow tries to fight her heritage and rebel against Tony only to marry a mobsters son and embrace the lies Tony tells himself about his job.
Ok finally back to this after a week full of hurricane caused nonsense. Finished Ep 3 of the final season and each one of these episodes are so full of action, it's crazy. The whole arc of Junior in the facility (nursing home, idk what it is) was intense - from running a card game by bribing an orderly, not taking his meds, then being forced to take his meds and disappointing the young guy who had been hanging around him (can't remember his name) to the point that the guy beat the crap out of him. That final shot of him sitting like a zombie in chair with petting a cat with his face all bandaged up feels like the end of his arc. We'll see. The whole bit of him sending a letter to Cheney was hilarious. Tony and Paulie's trip to Miami was good, sort of shows their relationship in a nutshell. Tony loves the guy but Paulie drives him nuts sometimes. Beansie points out that Paulie is the way he is because he has no wife and no kids. I about died when Tony was on the balcony of his hotel right after he got the call that he's in the clear for the murder he did back when he was 22 and he looks in to Paulie's room to see him laughing at the TV alone like a madman. For all that, still the craziest moment of the episode was this:
Isn’t there a considerable age difference between Tony and Paulie? I thought Paulie was apart of Johnny (Tony’s dad) crew when Tony was a kid/teen then Tony joined and after his dad died rose in the ranks to become the boss
That’s right. I think there’s like 10-15 or so years between them, so childhood best friend is not exactly accurate—but they were always around one another and I assume Paulie’s childishness probably made him connect with the younger crew, especially after Johnny died.
These episodes are all just so intense. Just watched the car accident with Tony and Chris....damn. I don't know what's going to happen with AJ. He fell apart after Blanca left him but has been hanging around with frat boys who are pretty shitty people. The parallels between him and Tony breaking down in therapy in the same episode is a lot. RIP Chris I guess
