in the talking sopranos podcast steve schirripa said he thought janice was the most evil person on the show and i kind of agree.
Yeah I mean, her telling Livia's caretaker at the funeral that she was gonna need all her mom's records back and that she was moving back into the house just shows jow quickly she takes advantage of the situation. Also, loved when no one had anything to say at the wake and Chris was very clearly high and started going off on some tangent lol. And Carmella's dad spoke his piece while his wife told him to keep quiet: "Who are you, the minister of propaganda?"
I haven't watched in awhile and i find the one episode I think about more than any others is easily 2x5 "Big Girls Don't Cry" just for the Christopher takes an acting class subplot alone. The scene where Christopher breaks down in front of the class might be the best Christopher scene in the series, even moreso than the intervention scene or the talking to Tony about Adriana scene.
One of the best parts about Chris' obsession with filmmaking is that he slowly realizes he has no talent but he still ends up getting a moderately successful film made because a lack of talent doesn't stop a lot of films.
TW: R*pe Just watched S3:E4 - "Employee of the Month." That scene was hard to watch, moreso than any other scene in the show so far. I can't even imagine having to act it out, major kudos to Lorraine Bracco, adding to that the scene where she breaks down in therapy in front of Tony and he attempts to comfort her. Just a visceral episode, and her realizing Tony is the guard dog in her dream that she could sic on her assaulter empowers her, though she chose not to say anything about it to him. That ending "no" was perfect.
Latest episode was chaotic. Junior has cancer, the wire in the lamp in Tony's basement was taken by Meadow, Tony got pulled over for a speeding ticket, Bobby's dad died while driving right after doing a hit that went horribly awry, Artie and Charmaine are splitting after he basically falls apart when Adrianna quits...lots of stuff. Favorite exchange: Artie: Tony talked to a marketing guy. Product branding beginning with the letter V makes people think of the word vagina. It's a turn-off. Charmaine: Excuse me?
ok finally back on this (Virgin River came out last week so my wife had to binge it, and of course there was The Rehearsal) Richie is one damn unlikable guy. Y'all weren't kidding about the uh, impending violence towards women. Damn. EDIT: Ralphie, not Richie. Richie was S2
A lot of the other villains have their charming moments, even Ralph, but Richie is just pissed off from the moment he shows up and doesn't let up.
Great episode with some great lines. They even had to take a shot at the Minnesota Vikings for a missed extra point lmao Janice's bf or whoever: "No champagne, please. The good Lord doesn't want us to drink alcohol." Tony: "Didn't Jesus drink wine?" Janice: "He was Jesus, Ton. We don't want to start making comparisons. When AJ gets in trouble for vandalizing the pool: Tony: "On your mother's birthday!" AJ: "It wasn't, it was after midnight." Tony: "What are you, fucking stupid?" Tony at the zoo: "It's good to get away and smell the gorilla shit." There are some ticking time bombs this season. Jackie is inching closer and closer to the mob scene. Tony chewed him out for being at the casino and Chris basically told him off when he tried to have a sit-down with him. Between that and him dating Meadow, it's setting up to be a volatile situation. And the Mercedes woman that Tony is seeing also seems....kind of unstable. Wonder how that's gonna bite Tony in the ass.
"Pine Barrens" - Wow that was one of my favorite episodes so far. Never thought a whole episode of Chris and Paulie bungling a kill and getting lost in the forest in winter for a day and night would be so good. My absolute favorite bit of dialogue came from when Paulie got off the phone from talking to Tony after Tony found out the Russian guy they're trying to kill was an ex-commando who worked in the Interior Ministry and killed 16 Chechens, but they couldn't hear each other on the phone: Paulie: "He killed 16 Czechoslovakians, he was an interior decorator!" Chris: "Really? His apartment looked like shit." And the two time bombs I mentioned earlier seemed to have already exploded. The Mercedes Lady threw a steak at Tony and Meadow caught Jackie cheating on her. Hope them leaving without making certain the Russian guy was dead won't come back to bite Paulie, but it probably will
Fun fact: a young Lady Gaga played one of the teen girls laughing at the pool as the boys vandalize it
