So Sopranoscon was this weekend at the meadowlands. I saw a few people I knew who went there. Apparently Adriana was the biggest hit there doing signings. Which yeah shes the best. It was mostly mid to small characters, no major ones. One thing that really irked me is that I heard the actor who played the guy who raped Dr. Melfi was there. Had the employee of the month picture behind his booth. Eh.
I'm sure he's a nice guy and all but to try and ride the coattails of that kind of performance is very cringy.
Would it be wrong for the actors who played Richie Aprile or Ralph Cifaretto? Honestly, most of the cast?
But those were actual characters who had facets to their performance and their place in the show. Leaning into what that one-note role entailed is just gross. Unless Joey Pants starts selling autographs where he’s stomping Tracee, it’s a very different scenario.
The con in general was definitely marketed towards the more problematic aspects of the show and fandom as well, so it’s not really surprising, just a bummer. The highlight for me would have been Pie-O-My.
The boss of the family told you you’re Santa Clause. You’re Santa Clause. Now shut the f*ck up about it.
I’ve listened to few of the episodes. They know their stuff. A good listen and the trivia questions they ask listeners are always fun.
Silvio completely failing as boss until he ends up in the hospital with an asthma attack is a really underrated comedic segment.
I just finished this show yesterday after about 5 months of watching. I wish I knew about this thread!
