That death upset my wife the most too on her watch, it just seemed like the one death you never really believed would happen? that was her favorite character.
Yeah, that interpretation just never rang true to me. He was her whole life and at the start she hadn’t given them anything at all. Even if it was a huge problem to deal with, he wouldn’t have been viewing it as her betraying him back then, just that she was in trouble. The scene where she pukes is one of my favorites. It’s so rare for TV or films to show such a realistic reaction to that level of fear. I would have done the same without a doubt.
This is only Sopranos-adjacent, but singer Shawn Smith died yesterday. I never really listened to his music, but the song “Wrapped in My Memory” plays over the ending of “Long Term Parking” and I always thought it was a fantastic song choice.
Allen Coulter was in my job again today. Been really fun to be able to discuss the show with him in passing (or at least the parts he worked on). I got to tell him i'm showing my roommate the show for his first time watch and that we're onto season 3 now, but that he's loved everything so far. Was super appreciative and was glad people can still enjoy the show nowadays.
My girlfriend and I just started the Kevin Finnerty dream sequence tonight. This might be my favorite stretch of episodes. Every Soprano family member speaking to Tony while hes in the coma is really a fantastic showcase for each actors’ abilities. AJ pledging revenge is a really powerful moment I didn’t acknowledge enough in my previous watches.
Only six episodes left on my first watch of the series. It’s absolutely floored me, especially in these later seasons.
I used to work in a senior home (ironically the actual Green Grove in the show #humblebrag) and I had a resident who said stuff like this to me on the reg.
Paulie thinking he was gonna go to Italy and be the shit and being totally shunned by everyone instead was hilarious.
I just ordered the Sopranos Sessions book. Anyone read it yet? I can’t believe I watched the whole series without getting spoiled on a single thing. Not even the finale, which I really loved.
