Why did I think this was coming on June 17? Did it get moved up or did that never happen?

 

Is it too much to hope for some US dates announced with the album drop?

 

The vinyl release is June 17. The digital is Friday

the run from floodgates through a hairdryer is top tier

 

First anticipated Pitchfork review in a while that I agree with.

They named it Open the Floodgates because they knew what it would do to my tear ducts

 

I’m glad that Free in the Knowledge is getting the recognition it deserves in some of these reviews.

This is my second favorite album of the year behind Soul Glo.

I was not blown away by this but I do think I want to spend a lot more time with it. I was kind of checking in and out a lot. definite HTTT vibe though which I like

 

Maybe it's just because it's a dreary day here, but this is REALLY working for me. Love that the complex arrangements/song structures that Radiohead is known for are given more traditional instrumentation here than recent Radiohead/Thom solo stuff. It really groooves too at times, love it.

Someone else said a logical follow-up to HTTT, and for me that and even In Rainbows vibes.

This album has been meeting all of my expectations so far.

 

Yeah, this is really good. More subdued than I was expecting, but that's not a bad thing - makes me excited to spend more time with it. "Thin Thing" and "Open the Floodgates" are crazy good

 

the orchestral moments here are much more fleshed out and accomplished than they were on AMSP

 

i do appreciate the more quick tempo’d indie / post punkish songs here and was expecting more too after the singles. a couple of those songs RIFF.
