Very happy to get a new Safdie film finally. Here's hoping Benny can keep The Rock under control and actually show up to set and not derail another project

Rock looks a good bit like Kerr here. Honestly surprised.

this should be great. Kerr had a great MMA career with a lot of ups and downs. Seems like there’s a lot of MMA fighters and Boxers with roles or cameos

If there was ever a good movie for The Rock to hide in corners and piss in water bottles, it’s this one.

Black Adam flopping at the box office is definitely an blessing in disguise because with movies like Southland Tales, Gridiron Gang, Snitch, Faster and Pain & Gain.. when DJ gets taken out of his comfort zone in those films, he does deliver a really good performance in those films but outside of the 2 Jumanij films, Moana and Central Intelligence.. the guy has been on auto pilot for the big pay day the last few years and with Benny Safdie writing and directing, he will push him out of his comfort zone and get the best performance of his career if it goes to plan and seem it's rumoured that the film is gonna be released in December and a24 r gonna mount a major awards campaign for it.. if this somehow works out for everyone involved but especially DJ.. this could easily take his career to that next level and maybe some awards recognition for him so fingers crossed for the guy

 

There's rumors that it The Smashing Machine might get a December release date and a24 launching an massive awards campaign for it but in my opinion they should wait till next year, have the film debut at film festivals first and build some buzz from there because December of this year is too quick of an turn around
