The Sleeping

The Sleeping are an American post-hardcore band from Long Island, New York, United States initially active from 2003 to 2012 before announcing their permanent reunion in 2023. They are known for their emotive lyrics, unpredictable sound, and dynamic live shows. Their music has been featured in video games including Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam for the Wii, Madden NFL 07, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock ("Don't Hold Back"), Guitar Hero: World Tour ("Bomb the World"), and FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage ("Listen Close"). They released their fourth studio album, The Big Deep, on September 28, 2010. The band announced their permanent reunion and a new album during a performance at Saint Vitus on February 18, 2023.

 

Didn't see a thread for this band. Since they are officially back figured it'd be a great time to start one.

Cannot believe the big deep came out 13 years ago

 

So psychedddd for the return of the sleeping! I had tickets to their reunion show in 2021 that got rescheduled for 2022 that got cancelled. Then they did the reunion show last month, and of course I was on vacation.

This band has consistently gotten better and better each release. Its a shame that The Big Deep and What It Takes didnt get as much recognition as the first two albums. Four solid albums with no skips! What band can do that?

 

Love these guys. All of their albums are bangers.

 

Had no idea they were back. This year just keeps getting better.

Wasn't expecting to stumble upon this thread today. Loved Can't Hold Back on GH3 but never had a chance to check them out properly. No time like the present I suppose!

 

Glad a thread was made. They're really underrated in the scene and I hope the reunion will make people who missed their first run tune in.

Really curious about the direction they're going to take now that the original guitarist is back as well.

 

Oh that's quite dancy and wouldn't sound out of place on Questions and Answers. Excited to hear a studio version.

Immediately pre-ordered the splatter vinyl. Was too slow for the test press though dang it. Super psyched for the sleeping being back.
