Oh wow this is quite different, a bit out there for them. Almost Death From Above 1979-ish with the raw/garage rock tones. Some interestings things going on but I'm not sure I'm feeling it as a whole.
This is gonna be Night Verses - 'Into the Vanishing Light' type of situation isn't it? I mean the melodies and uniqueness of the previous releases will be changed into Doug's shouting style of music?
Ugh I hope not. I like that record but it was a disappointment given how incredible Life Your Existence still is. That record pretty much got NV to want to go instrumental and part ways with Doug sadly. I’ve always wondered what that band would have done if they made a record more in line with LYE since they supposedly had a ton of demos (I think Aric mentioned 50 in one interview) and Doug/Ross Robinson picked the most strange ones to push forward.
Yeah the song they've recently played live sounds more like classic The Sleeping so I'm excited to hear the studio version.
The two new songs I've heard haven't really got me as excited for this album as I was hoping. Still psyched for it and hopefully a show that isn't on Long Island. I will gladly travel to NYC, but not LI. Can't wait for my Kickstarter vinyl and poster.
ok, so The Animal has really grown on me the last week. Psyched for this album and hopefully a show that isnt on Long Island, but in NYC or NJ.
The Animal has grown on me too despite the lyrics being too redundant and sounding like pure filler. OCD on the other hand has REALLY grown on me. I just hope it sounds better in quality on the actual record itself.
I dig The Animal more as of now. Listened to this one three times and dont dislike it, just not as fun. Especially the first half
Yeah that one is it. Love the post-punk direction and I hear shades of The Big Deep in the quieter moments.
Well I don’t know if this is a mistake but you can listen the songs Tainted and Halcyon on Apple Music: Tainted might be the song they played live earlier.
Excited to hopefully get tickets to NYC. Have been a big an of this band for almost two decades. Had tickets to their original reuinion show in August 2021 then covid had it postponed to December 2021 then it was officially cancelled. Looking forward to the new single this week too.
Yep it's as much of a jam as I expected from the live version. My favorite single so far, but not surprised as it's also the closest to their older stuff.
