Really hoping 2026 is the year Reel Big Fish returns. I had sat out their last few tours pre-pandemic for different reasons each time (and in part it was because I had seen them so much between 2000 and 2019 or so; 20+ times easily). But man, do I miss them so much now.
yah i skipped them a bunch too haha i haven't seen them in forever now, they are fun live! i could never really get into their later material but i'll always have a soft spot for them from my HS days.
The Kilograms have a new EP coming out sometime in the next few weeks. Three track. One of which is the ska version of "Lean On Sheena" that they've been playing live... Real stoked that one will finally be available for listening!
New Kilograms EP dropped today. And it looks like it'll be their last run of tunes. Not surprising given that the project always kinda felt like it happened by accident while Sammy and Joe were both sorting out what they wanted to do next. Hopefully Joe continues down this track and working on solo stuff... Also: The recorded version of "Lean On Sheena" is worth the price of admission alone.
My band opened for Save Ferris a couple nights ago and it was so fun! Their band loved us and talked to us a ton all night, which was very nice.
Does anybody want the bosstones to come back? Ska punk band working on reunion, controversial singer says
I was talking with a friend about this the other night. There is a very specific set of things that would need to happen for me to give a shit. And I think most of that would also have to happen for the band to even consider doing it in the first place. First and foremost is vocally denouncing RFK Jr. and everything he's done and said over the last year. Which is something Dicky would never actually do because he's too "old punk guy" to change his mind on anything. So it's all just nonsense anyway... The Defiant literally have fewer monthly listeners on Spotify than Kill Lincoln and Catbite. And I feel like most of his friends wouldn't ever take them on tour. So this feels like him just trying to stir the pot and see if he can get the discussion going to try to make it happen. Timing is a little odd with the Kilograms opting to end this past month but I really don't think this is on anybody's mind except for Dicky.
Was just coming in here to share that Big D news. Can't wait to hear what they're sounding like at this point... LFG 2026! Unrelated but Bad Time Records have an album announcement coming two weeks from today.
Big D are filming a music video in a few weeks (as part of a full set/show). Looks to be their last show before their new album drops which makes me antsy having to wait for the first single to drop. Haha. And to learn whether or not it's self-released or they'll be partnering with a label for this one.
Rad signing! I was really into their EPs for a hot minute a few years back and forgot about them so... Excited to dive back in and hear what they sound like in 2026! (Based on this single it's more of the same with better songwriter. Haha. That's a feature, not a bug.)
Good for them! I'm a little disappointed that MA got the Pomps again and that the date is the weekend before my wedding (because the responsible thing is inevitbaly going to be to not go LOL).
