didn't know quite where to post this, but this folk-prog album from December is like prime John Prine crossed with a dash of Ween and some other influences entirely. this guy has been at it a while and previously made a 51-track album of mostly 40-second songs so by his standards these are epics. absolutely wild stuff, weirdly moving at times. entirely self performed as well.
haven't seen any discussion of bill here but his latest is one of his best. the first half is stunning.

Sup folk fam. I want to plug our lovely forum’s “album of the week” thread. It works like a book or film club but for albums. We switch every week. They usually rule and we get some great, often obscure, picks. Hoping to get more discussion there so if you’re interested, feel free to join and say hi. This feels like the best thread to share this in but I just listened to (I had heard the name but never listened) Dutch Interior, specifically their album "Moneyball" from this year. RIYL: Folk rock, alt country, Greg Freeman, Fust etc. Dutch Interior - Moneyball (March 21, 2025) • forum.chorus.fm
The debut album from Brighton band The New Eves that dropped last month is really cool, it's a mix of folk and punk and is great. I feel like fans of the newer wave of alt-country would really dig it. Shoutout Nina Corcoran over at Pitchfork for recommending it.
