This entire segment of Last Temptation of Homer might be my favorite joke ever put to television, rewatched this one tonight and died all over again
Yeah, it's intentional, it's a joke. Lisa's line preceding that part is "Oh, Bart, cartoons don't have to be 100% realistic" EDIT: now Cody has me watching Boy Scoutz in the Hood, best episode
Way to shame me into never wanting to amateur online sleuth again! Actually, thanks for that, I bet I wouldn't like where I end up
Haha don't sweat it. We've all been that guy at some point. There were so many subtle jokes in the early seasons of the Simpsons that it would take several watches to get it. For example, in cape feare when they're driving and Homer asks "who wants to drive through the cactus patch" and Bob says no, I never realized that Homer, without any hesitation, factored Bob's vote into the tally lol.
This fucking show is neverending. I hate that this took me so long, but I"m so happy I'm here. I finally get it.
The ones they mentioned are part of the DVD commentary. That alone is worth owning them. They're insightful and hilarious in their own right. I think I've watched the first 10 seasons WITH commentary a few times.
