I can't believe how long this took me. I'm so in love. The timing/quality level of the visual gags is simply untouchable. "Wait, kids! You never learned how World War II ended!" "...." "We won!" "We won! USA! USA! USA!" immediately cut to three kids flipping a car over in the parking lot. So great.
I also really love the fleeting moments where Bart looks up to Homer. Really deepens the family dynamic. I'm sure that will continue over the next few seasons.
if you're not at season 5 yet get ready because that season has probably the greatest visual gag of all time
I've had Simpsons avatars since the AP days in 2010, why have I never found the Simpsons thread until now. I get most of my fill from the Simpsons Quotes of the Decade Twitter account, but can't recall the countless times I've quoted these clips Inflammable means flammable? I use that last one every time I found something even slightly irritating about a new country lol.
Two of my absolute favorites. Season 6 was the first Simpsons season I got and Bark of Darkness is the series opener and Lemon of Troy is the finale, lot of nostalgia for me in those ones. Homerpallooza is probably my #1 if only because I discovered the Smashing Pumpkins through that episode, who went on to become my favorite band of all time.
That Superintendent bit in 22 Short Films may be the pure comedic high in the series. Which is saying something.
Fear of Flying is high on my personal favorites list, underrated episode. The jokes just do not stop ever.
