The plot thickens

 

I listened to the commentary for The Principal and the Pauper for the first time the other day. It's pretty interesting. Ken Keeler (the credited writer for that episode) gets pretty worked up talking about it, not that you can really blame him.

 

@OhTheWater its happened. It finally happened. Sucking down season 3 so quickly, got 4-6 downloaded. I'm finally loving it the way I was always supposed to

 

Season 4 just might be the best season of the series in my opinion.

 

awesome awesome awesome. Will likely get into it tonight. I have at least through like seasons 11-12 before it gets horrible, right?

 

More or less, there are good episodes after that point but they're far apart from each other.

 

My god these closing S3 episodes are so stellar. Like, I get that THIS is the show people were referring to whenever they praise the hell out of the Simpsons. I just never got far enough in.

@Cody, you probably gathered this by now, but you're in for the best shit ever once you go through the 4-8 stretch. Enjoy it man.

 

Season 4 is the greatest season of television of all time (and season 5 the second!)

Finally

 

Its hard to rank from 3-8, its just too close to perfect. Season 6 might be my favorite actually, but seven is so good. Fuck it I'm not even thinking about this anymore.

Nah, it's universally agreed that you only move twice is the best episode, hands down.

Or maybe it's homers enemy.

you can also argue Homerpalooza, I'm sensing a theme with Homer being in the title, but you can also argue I Love Lisa maybe it's any character in the title

I actually think S8 might be my favorite. Either that or 5

 

When I watched the show, I went from the beginning to the end of whatever Star Slight said was the golden age, I think finishing season nine. After the rough animation and more moralistic early seasons it all blends together as far as quality. With so many episodes per season it feels less like substantially different sections.

 

Homer Goes to College, Monorail, Summer of 4ft 2, yeah there is a clear best episode.

 

I haven't seen summer of 4ft2 in so long. I know people have a soft spot for I love Lisa and Lisa's substitute, but this is probably my favorite Lisa episode. I guess technically it's a Lisa and Bart ep.
