I also fuck with those, and honestly most of the show through season 20 because 19-25 is my childhood.

11 is pure perfect absurdist comedy.

 

4-8 are top tier followed by 2-3, 9 had the nyc episode which is a top five for me. Ten I don’t think I like any episode but the jokes are very memorable.

 

The Simpsons Movie 2 just announced for release July 23, 2027. 20 years after the first movie

 

Im obviously in but idk. They gotta hook me with something plot wise.

 

Hmmmm...I will obviously want to see it but also have not kept up with the show in 20 years. Lmao

 

Having watched enough of the new series to note that Kavner and Shearer sound horrendous, I'm not filled with confidence.

EDIT: Like, one of the key emotional scenes of the first movie lives or dies by Kavner's performance, a performance they got by making her do like 80+ takes of that scene. That's not happening any more

 

Yeah, they sound really bad and the episodes I’ve seen have not been good. Really wish they knew when to put a fork in this.

 

I would imagine they wanted to get this out as one final send off for the original cast. But also rumor is 20th Century Studios would only back James L. Brooks' new movie Ella McCay if he got this off the ground

It does depress me to hear Kavner’s voice in the recent seasons.

 

The voice changes is definitely jarring.

I loved Barts birthday/faux finale episode but the altered voices is off putting

 

I watched the premiere last night randomly. Kind of meh. But man, Marge and Bart’s voices are so different now. Homer and Lisa had a couple lines that sounded off, but overall, they sound largely familiar. Marge sounds like an elderly woman.

 

She probably sounds like an elderly woman because she’s voiced by a 75 year old.

 

I haven't seen it in probably 10 years but I have a huge amount of nostalgia for the movie and LOVED it when I was young, I'm cautiously excited for this

 

I really like the first movie despite the show being well beyond its prime when it came out. I’m sure the second one will be well-written but idk if I’ll be able to comfortably sit through 90+ mins of the characters’ current voices

Didn’t they bring back all the golden age writers for the first one?

I can’t believe I was in high school for that movie I remember a bunch of us going out on Friday after school to see it and then going to in n out after and then doing other high school bullshit. Now I’ll be 37 for the 2nd one.
