i'll sporadically catch the new episode, and even if it sucks it at least has some funny lines and i get the sense that the current writers are trying give viewers good television
3-9 are the golden years for sure. A 7-year run of sustained brilliance. Might never see anything else like it.
I'm a defender for including 2, but 3 is absolutely peak Simpsons. I just looked up a list of season 3 episodes, stone cold classics the whole way through. Some of the most iconic and memorable episodes. Man I need to do a rewatch soon.
Two really good later season episodes are homerland and coming to homerica. And then you have the stupid dish rag episode.
It's crazy. Fxx and now disney plus are showing full episodes, with clips that have been edited for decades under normal syndication. And idk if it's just what I'm used to or whatever but the editors have made good choices cause every "new" clip are always not that funny and too silly.
Are there any Simpsons podcasts that go episode by episode? Or just general simpson pods that people recommend?
Talking Simpsons is probably the best. They get very in depth and go into a lot of detail. They finished going through season 10 recently and are now redoing season 1. Everything’s Coming Up Simpsons is good too. Although their currently not going through episodes, just doing interviews with Simpsons related people about stuff they do outside of working on The Simpsons.
I listen to the the simpsons show podcast (be warned the guys are extremely pretentious) and best darn diddly (these guys are more fun but I feel they may be calling it quits soon)
