i love last exit to springfield, but I never understand why that's usually given #1. homer's enemy or lisa's substitute IMO get that spot. leaning towards lisa's substitute
Excited about that Ringer article. I need to re-watch Homer Goes To College. I don't remember that one. I am really bad with episode names since I mostly watched this show in my grade school years.
Last Exit To Springfield may not be my personal favorite, but I think if I had to choose an objectively strong answer for best episode, that'd be it. I'm not looking at that list cause the spoilered select rankings are making me angry
I read an article that lays out why Homer's Enemy is a bad episode and basically, it boiled down to basically breaking the character of Homer. Turning him into a literal cartoon character versus a character in a cartoon was bad and it set up the downhill march of the series from that point on.
Cape Feare is probably my favorite episode altogether Also I think Homer's Enemy would have been a good series finale
Homer's Enemy is hilarious and a classic episode, but I am someone who also thoroughly enjoys the Armin Tamzarian episode too - they're both funny as hell and that's all I can ask TBH. In no way do I think Homer is as bad in Homer's Enemy as the haters that I've seen make him out to be.
Homer: Oh! And here's a picture of me in outer space. Grimes: You? Went into outer space? You? Homer: Sure. You've never been?.... Would you like to see my Grammy award? Grimes: No! I wouldn't! Classic. Also the sub-plot where Bart gets that factory LMAO Bart: Ah, jeez. Milhouse, how could you let this happen? You were supposed to be the night watchman! Milhouse: I WAS watching. I saw the whole thing; First it started falling over, then it fell over.
That episode is awesome. I think my favorite (or one of them at least) Homer interactions is in Cape Feare when the police are explaining how he will now be Mr. Thompson. That scene kills me.
Lemon of Troy is top 25 easy. If I had to pick I'd go with A Fish Called Selma as my #1 though. So many fantastic one liners. And of course it also has the best Simpsons musical number. Hullaballooza episode is also close but that's largely driven by sentimentality: I discovered the Pumpkins through that episode and they've been my favorite band ever since.
Homer Bad Man still remains my favorite See you in Hell, candy boys! Now now, she couldn't have gotten far, she has no arms. Simpson Scandal update: Homer sleeps nude in an oxygen tank which he believes gives him sexual powers. Hey, that's the half truth!
I don't know if I have a favorite maybe I Love Lisa or Lisa's Rival, Mom And Pop Art has my favorite lines ( why must I fail in every attempt at masonry and everything's coming up Milhouse)
My favorite would be hard to nail down, but Marge's Fear of Flying is so absurdly funny and gets often overlooked in best all time conversations.
Agreed with @Jake Gyllenhaal that Homer Badman is the best ever episode. The interview on 'Rock Bottom' where you can see the different times on the clock where they've so obviously re-cut it is an all-time sitcom classic, let alone Simpsons classic.
How could I have forgotten the Australia episode too?! That is also in my top 3. It's an endless quote machine.
