Wonder if they'll finally end after 30. That would be a good number to go out on and they'd still be breaking the record I can't figure out if I actually want that to happen though. I've never experienced life without the Simpsons before
I've watched way too many episodes during this marathon already. These 13 days are going to be wonderful!
So I had surgery a week ago and have been just sitting around for a week and discovered the 600 marathon the other day. I've never seen a lot of the Simpsons before but I've been watching so much of the marathon. I'm in love.
Sadly by now, it's already passed all the good stuff. Glad I caught a good chunk of it on my time off
Just curious, is there a general consensus of what is considered "the good stuff" when it comes to the simpsons? It's on episode #217 now
Seasons four through eight are considered some of the best in all of television. Two, three and nine are awesome as well, though the latter is where we first start seeing chinks in the armor
But I give the show until season 16. It gets pretty dire after that, with occasional high points, like Seasons 20 and 25.
Season five of the Simpsons is the best season of comedic television. 4-8 are 'peak' peak, extend it to 3-13 being all above average, then yeah, like someone said, 16/17 is when things get really messy.
Season 3 is absolutely in the peak range, and there are certain essential season 1-2 episodes, like Moaning Lisa that solidify the emotional core of the show.
Season 2 has got some unbelievably good episodes (illegal cable one, 3-eyed fish one, Bart The Daredevil, the ep with Herb etc.), so from now on I'm personally classing it as peak range!
i would says season 2-3 contain some of the best emotional episodes of the series, but IMO season 4 is when prime simpsons starts
