Don't Feel Like Dancing is so goddamn good. Really looking forward to this record, I think it'll be a summer staple this year.
My wife put Don't Feel Like Dancing on a mix CD for me so I got to listen to it driving through the country with the windows down. I was on the verge of tears the whole time -- It's absolutely beautiful. The chords in this one sound so triumphant and Awkward Breed-sy and the bridge is just a beautiful piece of music.
Can't believe this album is out on Friday, there's been so little label hype/PR for it. I keep expecting the release date to get pushed back.
It won't! I just got an email reminder that it was out Friday. I'll be submitting my review on Wednesday at the latest. I seriously cannot recommend this album enough. If it doesn't quite strike you at first, do yourself a favor and give it some time to grow as it's only gotten more stunning for me over the past month (alongside the warmer weather). "Win Affection" sounds like a straight-up classic Smiths song.
Half tempted to wait because its so close to release day but I just know I'm gonna slap it on the second I get back into the office lol
Weed Tent is great. Win Affection is great. Serpent In a Sun Drought is great. Maybe Steve's best lyrics overwall. You're gonna love it if you're from Ohio/the Midwest. You're gonna love it if you're not.
I miss the days when albums would stream in their entirety on stereogum or p4k the week before that was such a short lived time tho
streams don't matter when you can stream easily on release, if you stream an album early it's pretty much just pushing the release date forward in a harder to access form
They all 3 covered each others songs before starting tour. Menz, Sidekicks and Cheap Girls I thought Menz covered Sidekicks but they must have covered CG
