Just finished my first listen. Definitely on the short end for being a full length which is a bummer in this case. I think like 7/8 actual songs (not including HEAVEN1000x) work for me. Lots of slowcore throughout that reminds me of Cloakroom a bit. I get what they're going for with the lo-fi bedroom acoustic sound on the title track but I was hoping the album would go out with a bang rather than a soft acoustic track.
I like the whole thing but definitely could’ve used one more The Gift type of track on there towards the end. As it stands that song kinda sticks out like a sore thum Big Ole House is goated
I almost mentioned in my post that I kind of expected more of this to sound like The Gift. It really does stand out from the rest of the record. Like you said, one or two more like that sprinkled in would've balanced it out a bit better for sure.
Spirit Goth started a 24/7 live youtube feed (apparently like 4 months ago) that’s like the dream/bedroom pop version of the chilledcow lofi girl stream. Pretty cool if you're the type to just chill at home with YouTube on in the background https://www.youtube.com/live/NDx6wscs3Ag?feature=share
idk if it was their first time playing Boston or New England in general but I caught Trauma Ray last night and holy shit were they good
Haven't been in the headspace for much new music lately but I'm loving the new Mad Honey record a ton right now
