Was in the mood for Godspeed this morning, but with them off Spotify (rightfully so, I am working on making a switch), Lift to Experience kind of scratched the itch. Have we talked about this album in here? More post-rock imo (and I don't actually know that it's Christian rock so much as just the concept of this record), but it's really interesting:
This EP is out on Friday. Both songs released so far have been pretty solid. This one in particular kinda reminds me of Daughter
Went to Nothing/Whirr tonight. Nothing sounded pretty solid, though a little lighter on Tired Of Tomorrow tracks than I was hoping for. Seems like a new record was to be in the works this year but it didn’t really come together. Maybe next year? Whirr kinda sounded like shit, which goes right along with most of what I’ve heard about them live. Softcult opened, who easily sounded the best of the three, but are a band that I don’t really care for in general
Fuck, I thought I had just discovered a new dreampop gem, called "copperplate". Checked out the albums available on Spotify, and suspiciously I found several albums released in the last two years. I then went to the bio page and saw: "i don't exist copperplate is an ai project focused on creating dreamgaze music this project is purely for enjoyment and creative exploration please support artists who dedicate themselves to crafting expectional releases through their own artistry and effort, not through ai generated tools" Ughghghg
Yeah a few of us were talking about that in this thread back in July when that all went down - those records had been posted about pretty consistently through 2024. I totally thought AI music would be easier to detect, but copperplate made a fool outta me. Haven’t listened since and can’t imagine I ever will again
