Fleshwater definitely would be considered shoegaze I think, Deftones also fits the genre

 

This. everyone just calls guitar music shoegaze these days anyway

I think pedals are kind of an inherent part of the genre so probably not entirely acoustic, but there is definitely some acoustic driven stuff out there/bands within the genre that have acoustic songs (think Slowdive’s Dagger or something)

This song immediately comes to mind

Also DIIV did an acoustic forward set in 2017 that fucking rules

Love both bands and I'll be seeing that tour in about a month but Fleshwater and Deftones are definitely not shoegaze (along with a bunch of other music that gets shared in this thread that I also enjoy, so not here to give anyone shit about it)
