played "Name For You" and "The Fear" The Shins Perform New Song “The Fear” on “A Prairie Home Companion”: Listen | Pitchfork not gonna listen to the closer yet Edit: the version of "Gone For Good" on this UGH
Ports of Morrow was a great album and didn't seem to get a lot of attention. So far this new one seems somewhat in the same vein. It seems like every new Shins album inches closer and closer to being a Broken Bells album.
I don't think that's true, BB is distinct from shins because of the production. Plus I can't see name for you or dead alive fitting in on a broken bells album. The main throughline would be James's voice/melodies and well he writes the songs so
Looking forward to this and hoping it means a UK tour this year at some point, never seen them before!
You do or don't like this version...? I think it's pretty great. I know I'm biased though because this is probably my favorite Shins song. I think my favorite version is the rougher one on the So Says I EP though.
It's the deepest I've ever heard his voice, throughout the entire song. I didn't say I didn't like it. I just had to keep checking if I was listening to the right band.
digging the songs they released so far, tbh i just couldn't get into port of morrow, not sure why. hopefully the rest of the album is as steady.
