John Squires saying it’s been an industry known thing Jenna wasn’t coming back and alluded to the new additions sorta as replacements.

 

If true then why would they bring it up now and not when they claim she said no? There have been casting announcements for other projects during the strikes and there have been BIG casting announcements the last week when they could have announced it. Were they planning on waiting until production starts next year and say “Surprise!”? None of this adds up

 

I find it hard to believe that a competent studio wouldn’t work around their biggest star’s schedule

This too. She is THE star. Even though Melissa was the lead, Jenna brought in the money. I find it baffling they are claiming she already said no due to scheduling conflicts before the strikes when A) a director wasn’t even attached until August and B) that they wouldn’t delay filming for a year until after Wednesday to have Jenna still have a major role.

But what do I know? Maybe the studio actually said “nah. We want to film this next spring without our biggest money maker”

 

I was under the impression that, although she obviously has a packed schedule, she wanted to be involved even if it was a reduced role. I think what happened with Melissa was the nail in the coffin, and obviously there's now a PR spin that it was "scheduling issues."

As others have said, if she truly weren't coming back for scheduling reasons, then Spyglass would find a way to make the production work to get her involved. But that's not the case.

 

Given how they treated Neve… nothing surprises me y'all.

I don’t know if I believe her. Spyglass and their pro-Israel CEO said she’s antisemitic, so I feel like I should take their word for it considering all the evidence they showed

The only way this is clean for anyone is if a new studio buys in, but that’s probably not likely.

Obviously my feelings have no worth in the grand scheme of this shitshow, but this franchise has been more important to me than probably any band ever? So seeing it dive like this because of a bunch of fucking suits kills me.

 

Yep. This franchise is literally my favorite thing ever, but speaking out against genocide is obviously more important. My hope is Neve says fuck off, Scream 7 fails miserably, Spyglass wants to get rid of the brand, another company swoops in, gets back Neve, Melissa & Jenna and Scream 8 is a glorious revival.

 

Everything you said except I hope Scream 7 doesn’t even happen with Spyglass. No reason to taint this franchise

Just have a new series with all the same actors called Shout with a different studio

 

Another studio should start making Stab movies

 

Don’t go on the Scream subreddit. They think A24 is going to buy the rights to Scream

 

Yeah and then in in universe franchise everyone watches can be Shout like someone mentioned earlier

 

Because that will attract the youth audience
