Initially, I wasn't surprised at the win considering Scream took it in 96 and iirc Scream 2/Scream (22) were nominated, but considering the other films this was up against? Wow!

 

It was a shoe-in for it to win...The MTV awards are essentially pay-for-play. The studios and management guarantee attendance in exchange for an award. Thus, why you're seeing a lot of Paramount owned properties getting awards (Paramount owns MTV).

This is exactly the kind of movie that should win that, and it matters as much as any other movie award

The cover for Scream 6 on Paramount Plus is just Jenna Ortega. Was she first billed in this one? Maybe I missed it.

 

I don’t think so. But she’s easily the most famous of the leads.

 

definitely — and she plays a bigger part in this one than in 5. Would not be surprised if her stardom changes the trajectory of the writing in this series.

 

Honestly don't hate that pick. I think I like HDD just as much as I like Ready or Not

 

Me thinks that might make for more humor in the next Scream.

 

I like Landon but I don’t know how to feel about this one. I think I’d prefer Radio Silence to just be given more time to keep it going on their own terms. But if it’s a matter of them not wanting to do it anymore, I guess this pick works for me more than it doesn’t.

 

I like Landon but I don't know if I like the idea of this franchise getting goofier than 6

 

I'm hopeful he can pull off a good Scream. Am a little nervous about it though

Radio Silence will be executive producers on Scream 7--that makes me feel a bit better about them not directing. At least they're still involved in some way.

Not stoked on Landon, don’t really care for the HDD series. We Have A Ghost was awful. Freaky was decent. But still.
