I wouldn’t be mad if they went supernatural, but you have to commit to it in a way that makes sense. With these Billy scenes, they’re trying to live in both realms and it’s coming off clumsily. The mystery killer/reveal trope is getting old. Finding a way to tell the story from a killers perspective or bringing in a supernatural element would be welcome on my end.
I kinda just assumed she imagined Billy looked like he did in the final confrontation of Stab, which is already meant to be an almost 1-to-1 recreation of Scream, just with the "real" Billy's face. Still think the BIlly ghost thing is dumb, though
I thought it was just a figment of her imagination. He's not like telling her things she doesn't already know is he? It's a manifestation of the part of him that lives in her. I would not consider it supernatural personally (although it would be kind of fun if they went that way)
His name is Ghostface. Wouldn't be ridiculous to have an actual ghost be part of the ending, but it'd be way easier to fuck up than to pull off I think.
I mean sure, but it’s still a huge reach and the shirt wasn’t present in 5. I don’t think Skeet looks good with the prosthetics on either, he looks like an undead version of himself.
Even without the shrine, it’s truly not a big deal. In 5, they have a professional shot of him on the TV. You can feel that it looks off or bad. I am only clarifying that it’s not his ghost or something. And for the look, the Stab movie has been out for over a decade. It’s not hard to assume they got the look down based on witness accounts of that night.
I refer to it as his “ghost” but I fully understand it’s just Sam’s visions. Which is why him acknowledging the knife in the room when she looks in the mirror in the middle of a fight with somebody trying to kill her looks so stupid to me. And again, why would Sam envision him in that image? As he was the night he died/the way he was portrayed to look in Stab, which I could’ve sworn it was established in 5 that she didn’t watch the movies?
I know these conversations are all in good fun… but let’s not treat Scream 6 like it’s the crazy one when Jay and Silent Bob were in Scream 3.
This was a lot of fun and set the stage for what's basically a new series led by characters I enjoyed. I have some very specific nitpicks, but they were certainly not enough to keep me from liking it. Barrera and Ortega are excellent. And good lord people are really overthinking the Billy stuff.
