I haven’t seen 5 since in theaters…but did they ever say that Richie and his family were estranged or anything?

How didn’t Tara or Sam recognize his family? Wouldn’t they have been all over the news after the events of 5? Gail wrote another book, there had to be mention of Richie’s family?

 

Gail must not be very good at investigative journalism.

 

Maybe they were somehow concealing their identities? But I guess that wouldn't make sense since it was Richie's death that broke them and caused them to put a plan in place for the events in 6, right? Idk, those are good points though.

 

Liked this one less than 5, but still had a lot of fist-pumping and "oh shit" moments.

Jenna had more to do in 5. She probably had the most well acted opening sequence of the whole franchise. Just because she's "not good" here doesn't mean she's not good.

Same reason no one recognized Debbie Loomis in Scream 2. Because the plot!
