The theater I frequented in high school was a Cinemark and was ALWAYS $3.50. Absolutely bonkers to think about that now... or maybe I'm just old and that was standard pricing 2001-2004. Living in Chicago I am a a Regal man now. In cinematic adventures, but also in life.
There’s an AMC like 3 miles from my house so that’s our go to. I would happily try a Cinemark if there were one within a reasonable distance tho
Just watched the Scream 5 Kill Count by Dead Meat and I come into this thread to see early reactions. I am at an absolute fever pitch for this flick and I’m counting down to Thursday night.
watched 2 again tonight. still has a lot of issues (goofy killer reveal, far too much time spent on the intricacies on sororities and not enough giving new boyfriend guy any personality). still has some of the absolute best sequences in Scream (Randy's death, the soundproof glass sequence, fuckin Luke Wilson as Billy lmao). feels like them doing the best they can with a sequel made in under a year with five different script rewrites - sounds like hell but they made some gold out of it. like it's super obvious Sarah Michelle Gellar was added at the last minute because of how big her name was, but the dialogue between CC and the killer in her phone scene is so fucking good, some of Williamson's best ever good movie on the whole, I'm pretty sure 4 still smokes it but will confirm when I watch that later this week
Interesting that one of them mention it's the weakest motive in the franchise. I need Thursday to hurry up and come
Just rewatched scream 5 for the first time and it didn’t hold up for me as much as I’d hoped. Still fun though.
I thought the movie came out this weekend. Me and my bf got tickets online. Show up at the theater. They scan our tickets and tell us theater 4. I go into theater 4 while my bf uses the bathroom. I go to sit down and ppl on the aisle seats seem rude about letting me thru but whatever. I sit in my assigned seat and pay attention to the screen finally. It's ppl boxing and then I see Michael b Jordan. I'm like oh no this looks like Creed. I've never seen creed but I know it's about boxing and has Michael b Jordan. I don't want to disrupt the same rude ppl so I go out the other way, which results in me having to walk across the room and go by the screen to leave. I call my bf and inform him I just interrupted a showing of creed 3. He talks to the staff and they insist our movie is in theater 4. It's not a theater that has the poster of the movie you're seeing right outside your auditorium room. We go back and my bf peeks in and yep it's creed 3. Everyone is confused. The manager looks at our ticket and they're like bruh these are for March 10th.
The worst part is we went to the sketchier theater in town cause they had more showings. We went to dollar tree nearby first to get cheap candy. The cashier Lindell has clearly been unbothered his entire life and moves at his own pace. At one point a man shoplifts and runs out with two baskets full of product and Lindell just shakes his head and is like "man it's sad when you gotta be stealing from the dollar tree" and just keeps going like nothing happened. He takes so long to scan we barely even got to the movie on time. Just to be at the wrong one lmao.
