To take this a step further....the scream 5 line connects back to the scream 1 line, while the Scream 3 and 4 lines basically do their own thing and don't connect anywhere else. So it does lead you to believe, with the new location just like 2 left Woodsboro completely, that there will be other similarities. Richie's mom? Weird film school dude? Popular film nerd character from the first movie getting got? etc.

Rewatching 2022 and it's ironic that Ghostface says "Everybody knows Sidney Prescott is in all of them except the last one"

Also people talk about no one being around during the hospital scene but it's because they moved Tara to a private floor

 

Dewey also mentions that Gale's morning show is in New York, no way that doesn't play into the new movie

edit: which is kind of a bummer, but hot take, but with Dewey gone and Sidney out, I'm honestly more interested in an entry without legacy characters.

I've never been super deep into this franchise, but I've always enjoyed them. I'm doing a rewatch at the moment and made it through 4 last night. So far I'd probably rank them 1, 4, 2, 3. And from what I remember of 5, it will likely land in between 4 and 2 this time around.

I hope she has an actual decent role in the film and not some dumb hokey typecast to please casual fans.

The closer we get, the more I'm leaning toward Samara being the opening kill.
