Imagine if they killed Sam in the opening scene

 

Then the (ghost? Mental projection?) of Billy Loomis becomes flesh and kills the new ghostface. He prepares for the kill slash, pulls back and says, “this is my franchise now, bitch!”unmasks ghost face to see it’s Sydney! Billy plunges down fiercely and we cut to the title. Then credits roll. Scream 7, coming soon pops up at the end.

I agree - I thought she sucked.

 

She was so jarringly bad on my first viewing I didn’t think I was going to like the movie. After seeing it 2 more times I’ve lightened up on her performance but she is still very easily the weakest one for me.

 

I’m not trying to dunk on her. I just can’t believe she was even cast in the role.. UNLESS it’s all a setup to make her the opening kill in 6.

just watched this again/showed it to my mum. movie absolutely rips, easily second best in the franchise. Jack Quaid really sells the whole thing, his performance is so good that even though you know he's the killer it still kinda hurts that he is

 

I didn’t enjoy the killer reveal on a second watch. The motivation behind them was already done with Mickey, the meta commentary on current horror movies feels so corny at times, and I didn’t care about anybody dying but Dewey. This was also Courtney’s stiffest Gail portrayal yet.

And the Billy hallucinations are bad bad, like I actually want them removed from the film lol. Why does he look like he did the night he died? Why would Sam see his imagery like so? Are we to believe he’s just a vision she’s got in her head or a spirit since he points out the weapon in the climax? I don’t get this addition to the movie at all.

 

this reveal works far better for me than Mickey's which actually makes no goddamn sense, probably a by-product of that script being reworked a thousand times. Olyphant sells it as much as he can but man after a great buildup the reveals in 2 kinda suck

 

2 is so good, and it’s made clear that Debbie used Mickey for her own motivation and comments on how she felt his was stupid

This round they were like let’s just see how many quips we can cram into Stu’s house.
