All of the previous actors are back as deepfake AI videos. Three killers. The first one is an escaped looney who dies by Gale hitting him with a car. The last two consist of a guy we saw for a total of 45 seconds (he works at an insane asylum and had previously worked at Google) and Sidney's neighbor. I don't even remember the neighbor's motives because I started to zone out after how dumb the Google guy reveal was. Gale and the Meeks twins are not in the final act. Sidney's husband gets stabbed multiple times but is still alive hours later despite severe bleeding. He even has enough energy/consciousness to help his daughter escape the chair she is duck taped to.
Saw this and Pillion in a back to back this evening...this did not rule, but Pillion redeemed the evening.
This is pretty much how I felt about them. They're here for the "hey, they're from the last two films!" moment
Three other stray thoughts: For a movie that refuses to name the main characters of Scream 5 and 6, it seems ridiculously preoccupied with 6 and that Sidney was not involved with it. Like, it feels like “Rise of Skywalker” levels of angst for its predecessor. Can only imagine the idea of a curfew was a cost-cutting measure to not hire extras since it seems like 12 people live in Pine Grove. I was kind of excited for “Scary Movie,” but damn, starting off with a “they/them” joke, followed by the tagline of “No Safe Spaces” and a bunch of gay jokes. I’m sure the Ellisons will love it!
Looks like it’s going the other way and having an even bigger opening than initially expected I’m not exactly surprised, I guess, I feel like I know a decent amount of people who are excited because Sidney is “back” and don’t even know about what happened behind the scenes
This movie was surprisingly decent. Probably because I went in with the lowest expectations. Those ghostface reveals though…talk about creatively bankrupt. Straight dog water
Political baggage aside, The movie itself is getting more hate than it deserves. It was decent but fun enough to be a 7th film in a horror franchise. It felt “fanfic” in certain parts and Williamson certainly doesn’t understand Gen Z like he did Gen X in 96. For those conflicted about giving money to Spyglass, feel free to stream it later. The only reason I saw it today was to avoid the killer reveal.
Been a huge fan of this franchise for 30 years. Just got out of 7 and must admit that this was basically crap. Could possibly beat 3 as the worst one. The killer reveal was so bad that I had to laugh. Could care less. The Stu and other previously announced cameos were pure slop. Felt no connection to any of the new characters. Mindy, Chad, Gale added nothing to the movie. 1>4>5>6>2>7/3
Down with not financially supporting the movie but the lack of spoiler tags here is worse than ever seen on this site lol.
Ok saw this a second time. For free again. And yeah now I have some problems. Still some things I like but I see the issues more clearly
Spoiler tags are not needed at this point. People can use them if they want to, but the movie has been out for over a day now.
I can already tell that you have no interest in admitting any form of understanding here, so I’m not going to argue.
