The twist/reveal was a little too contrived but im just not holding very high expectations for these lol the beer tap kill was fucking brutal lmao
My local movie theater is closing on Saturday and I have a cousin who works there, so he just let me into this one for free. Glad I didn't pay for it.
Scream 7 was good; don’t get the hate. Score was good, the kills were good, tension was there and Sid and her family are fully realized characters. The only missteps might have been including the twins at the expense of developing others and a weaker finale(not the weakest) 7.5/8
This was aggressively generic. Without Neve, this is like a step above the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” remake. The killer’s motive is somehow worse than the “Scream 3” reveal. There’s a reference mania scene that made me want to die. For all of Radio Silence’s faults with Scream 6, at least they had a look and lighting. This just looked so dim and uninteresting. There’s no reason for Gale to be in this. The remaining Core Four are basically cartoons.
I could probably use A-List to reserve another movie and sneak into this... but idk if I even want to see it in theaters
I saw this for free. Gotta say I’m a little split. As a movie, I really enjoyed it. However some of the kills felt a little too way over the top and unrealistic, even for a movie like this. I loved the acting during the office scene. I like the way they brought Stu back but thought the other cameos were too much. I liked the story but also couldn’t help but think what about the other story, especially with the twin characters involved. Seems like they’re aware of the backlash and really trying to get ahead of it and win people over. Went to a local theater and they had all this exclusive merch but you had to buy a movie ticket to be able to purchase. Before the previews they had all these social media photo ops on the screen. They had exclusive scream based trivia, showed interviews and music video for that terrible song. And as we walked out they gave everyone a really nice movie poster.
I’m not trying to be the resident hater for people that liked this, but the reason the twins are in this is they clearly wanted some connection to 6 and knew those two weren’t going to turn down a paycheck and they’re basically the only side characters with personality since all the new characters are just blank slates played by generic actors who all get killed.
I guess I don’t think the two ghostbusters girls and Asa are any more or less generic than Mindy and Chad. I think if fleshed out more (and there was no real time to do that) they could be just as likeable? The film isn’t about them though - it’s Sid’s (for all the good and bad that entails). I just don’t see them having ANY idea of what to do in the next one that will be a year away after this weekends opening.
dead on. plenty of other issues too. there's also something pretty messed up about one of the killers having an abusive husband iirc. like wtf
there was a dude sitting next to me wearing a ghostface hoodie, and even he took his phone out a few times
Ehh. That kind of reminds me of the deflection of criticism for the last two Halloween movies, that they were actually about Haddonfield or Laurie, so any other character deficiencies are void. This is typically a franchise that has at least a couple of memorable characters each installment. Not even Sidney’s daughter aka Mini Taylor Tomlinson is given much to do but pout and remind us that she’s Sidney’s daughter. I guess my big problem here is no one besides Sidney even seems human. Like even the touching scene with Gale doesn’t make sense because Gale unapologetically crossed the line and was still mad that Sidney left her at the station. But that’s all papered over because she’s know her a long time?
