It would likely depend entirely on how they did it - I have a feel there's more to the story, i.e. her becoming a vigilante of sorts or setting up other killers, maybe.
Matthew Lillard Spills on 'Fantastic' Scream Reunion with Skeet Ulrich In Five Nights Freddy's 2 (Exclusive)
lol the final theatrical poster is an IGN exclusive to share so now it has a giant IGN banner on the bottom
I'm excited for this movie, but going to stay away from the trailer that drops tomorrow. I want to go in opening night with no tidbits or spoilers ruining it. I just hope the Stu thing is not AI and he is actually alive and a decent part of film. Im obviously not expecting all the other previously announced dead characters to be present, but I want Stu to be.
It's kind of a shame that what was my favorite horror franchise has just turned into a snake eating it's own tail because they fired Melissa Barrera for speaking out in support of Palestine. Built an entire trilogy arc just to let it die because the studio can't handle an outspoken star. Like...how do they plan to explain away the fact that Sam & Tara are just...no longer there?
was going to make this joke too but couldn't remember if the context would work in this situation lol
I keep trying to take a step back and assess what my excitement would look like without the Spyglass thing, and while I'd no doubt be happy about new Scream and the return of Lillard, I can't help be feel like I would still feel pretty underwhelmed by the trailer? The last two films felt rejuvenated, but I'm starting to wonder where else they can possible go that hasn't been done before
Yeah, I can’t say objectively how I’d feel about it if Barrera wasn’t fired, but it just looks really bland. Hiring Williamson to direct was such a blatant desperation move so Paramount/Spyglass could say “It’s the guy that did ‘Scream.’ We’re going back to our roots.” And there’s nothing that suggests he has an eye for horror or is looking to do anything different here.
I hope this means that they go back to discussing the horror genre as a whole and specific film titles like they did in 1 and 2. 3-6 felt more like they were building up the Woodsboro and Stab film franchise lore.
I 100% agree. Scream has been my favorite franchise for the past 25 years. Obviously, that relationship has now been complicated by Spyglass and their decisions. But man..after taking the time to digest the lead up to this through an objective lens?.. it feels incredibly uneventful and boring. It feels like a cable tv release.
Side note.. isn’t this a Creepyduck design? Not official? It’s sad, this fanart excites me more than anything else that has to do with this film. (I don’t know this designer well, so I have no idea if AI or not.)
