seriously. and if anything, the last movie could've been less formulaic instead of masquerading as a new left turn in the opener. the problem is definitely NOT that people just want the same product again and again
Horror fans should come to expect it from a franchise. By continuing to look for new paths in a franchise that spans four decades, I’m okay with a misstep or two. Some people have already made up their minds to hate this, regardless of what we get.
Why should I expect anything less than great because other franchises aren't consistent? I'm a horror fan so I should just accept if a sequel is bad? What?
Take a step back for a minute; I think you know that's not what they're saying. Tempers are rightly running hot because of how frustrating this entire thing is, and I think that’s coloring the conversation here. What I take is that they're saying a franchise can afford to take weird turns, not bad turns. We don't know yet if this movie will be bad, although I also assume everyone hopes it is to reflect poorly on Spyglass.
No, I don't. That's why I said it. Idk what tempers have to do with anything either. I'm confused why I should expect a movie to be bad because it's to be expected apparently. I'm not angry about it. lol I want this new movie to be good. Do I want it to absolutely bomb now? Yes, I do. But I'll be pirating it and hoping it's good because I expect good Scream movies. All the news coming out of this makes me think it's gonna be desperate bullshit. And it all comes down to Spyglass and the mess ups they've caused to lead us here. I'm just trying to explain, that in my case, I'm disappointed that this movie sounds like crap, so far, and I think it's dumb to say I should just expect that.
Because I used the word "bad" instead of "absurd"? Okay, Pen, my bad. I'm confused why I should expect a movie to be strange and absurd because it's to be expected apparently.
Well usually when someone accuses you of being mad, when you're not, it's more annoying than being actually mad. I asked a valid question because I don't understand why I'm supposed to expect strange and absurd because other franchises do it. I don't know why you had to make a thing of it like I was attacking someone either. I explained my thoughts on the matter and said I didn't get it. But you wanted to harp on me not using an exact quote about what was said.
You seemed aggressive. You still seem aggressive, and if I'm exacerbating that, I'm sorry, but I'm trying to get you to understand that no one is personally telling you how you, digitalsea, have to feel about anything. This kind of makes me think of the band Weezer and how one of the members didn't like Ratitude, but went along with it because the way Rivers put it, it was for one album and they could do something else the next time, and that put it into perspective, for them anyway. All I assume A Nice Person is saying is that the longer a franchise runs, the more the creators might feel the urge to experiment, do something wild and crazy. Which is true! It's a true thing that happens quite often.
I think the real tragedy in all of this that I keep thinking about is that all of these people chose to sign up for this film and collect a paycheck instead of showing solidarity.
But that's not how I took it at all. Hence why I specifically said I was explaining how I feel in my case. I wasn't speaking for anyone else, nor am I mad about what they said. I simply just don't get it. I don't want missteps in a Scream movie because they're expected. I just want a good movie. And I promise I wasn't aggressive until you were saying I was mad. I apologize if anything before that came off that way, but I was genuinely confused by their statement. Also apologize for getting aggressive, but that's just one of those buttons. lol
Putting this all aside and dumping it off a cliff, I am just really curious what the endgame is of bringing all of these characters back. Are we looking at the Scream Multiverse?
They're also missing 5 other killers as of now. Can they even bring Skeet back without making the Melissa stuff more awkward?
Is this confirmation that Stu is actually back and it’s not going to be flashbacks or ghost cameos like with Billy?
I can’t imagine him stressing over f’ing stuff up if he’s merely a cameo flashback. Seems a bit extreme if so lol
A cameo flashback could still fuck up the legacy of the original movie though. Bringing him back at all kinda is.
Could just be a flashback of her Roman, Stu, and Billy meeting in the past. But behind that was the real puppet master, i.e. whoever the killer is in this new film.
