I'm just so sour about this. It really fucking sucks. Sometimes I wish I was more ignorant so I could set things aside and be more excited, because what horror fan doesn't want a new Scream movie? But this is so much worse than them not shelling out for Sidney in six. It's just a major bummer and I'm sorry I keep harping on it.

 

Would honestly feel better about Mason if I found out he talked to Melissa and got her blessing, but I don't have any reason to believe that happened right now.

 

I'm glad you, and others in this thread, are sour about it, makes me feel less alone. I'm still beyond furious about what Spyglass did here, and also that folks signed on to be in this movie instead of telling them to fuck off.

Me every time there’s Scream 7 news because I kinda just don’t give a fuck what they do now. I’ll watch it on plex. I’ll stay pissed off.

 

hoping i can catch a prescreening (which they didn’t do for the last two) of 7 so i can watch in theaters without supporting spyglass

 

Cast is bland as hell. Williamson is not remotely in the same league as Craven or Radio Silence. This will be an easy skip.

 

Right? I respect him for his writing and producing, but the only movie he directed is shit. Lol

Thanks.. certainly not giving anyone the benefit of the doubt, but I sincerely hope he got her blessing behind the scenes. Him, being the only member of the core four to join, sorta reeks.

 

He hasn’t even said anything or alluded to it on his IG. So it is curious. I hope he did too or this movie is going to leave an even worse taste in my mouth than it already was. Especially because he’s probably back just to get killed off.

So, based on unconfirmed reports, this film may feature:

- significant time jump

- a new town

- characters to start a new trilogy

 

Well the first and last points were pretty safely assumed already.

 

Judging by the actor they chose to portray that character I’m guessing the time jump will be 15 years at minimum.

What about the detective guy from Scream 3? I thought he was implied to have married Sidney?

 

Coolest thing ever would be that Patrick Demsey told Spyglass to fuck off and they had to change things up lol

 

He probably wanted more money and leveraged Thanksgiving for it, but failed. I think the trades even announced he was being talked to for this.
