this has all been so disappointing. like what kind of a story can they salvage here..just pretend the last 2 didn't happen?
Outside of my little bubble, is this even working for general Scream fans that don’t care about the Melissa stuff? Yeah cool, Neve is back because they had to grovel at her feet and screenwriter, Kevin Williamson, is directing even though his only directing credit is a movie that tanked in 1999. That doesn’t wash away the fact that they had to throw away an entire cast and storyline that’s now forever unfinished. Idk how anybody could be excited about this. Lol. The Neve and Kevin Williamson thing is such a lame desperate attempt to draw fans back and I really hope people aren’t fooled by it. Idk how much more obvious it could be that they spit in Neve’s face before Scream 6 and just crawled back to her because they almost killed the franchise by being Zionist pieces of shit. Some of you might know how much Scream means to me from this thread, but sorry for the angry rant either way. It’s just so depressing that this is where everything ended up. Fuck Spyglass. And fuck this world and everything that’s going on. Won’t be specific because I’ll keep the Scream thread politics free. Lol
Well Randy shows up in that video in Scream 3, so it’s doesn’t really have to be something weird. But do I have faith that the movie will do something simple like that and not bring him back because his death was actually faked? No, I do not. lol
Well, yes. Haha! But in what wayis the story ufinished? I just can’t recall anything major needing resolved for the core four.
If they’re cutting all the new cast, just call it Scream 5 (which is available) and just spin off from 4 like the other 2 never happened. It’s horror, so it feels like an acceptable thing to do, even if it’s for shitty reasons.
I would like to see their superhuman healing abilities addressed. (In actuality, I would assume there was more planned for Sam's relationship with becoming a killer.)
Well if they wrote a new movie continuing the story and it never gets made now, then that story is unfinished. We never get to see what they intended to make with the movie they were already gearing up to make. A season finale could sometimes work as a series finale, if a show gets cancelled. But that doesn’t mean the story was finished. edit: sorry I’m high, so I just realized I pretty much just repeated myself in the first part. Lol. I’m not even gonna fix it.
it’s called plot armor and obviously would never be explained in a movie. And while they could have taken Sam there, I think you can easily argue that she is leaving that part of her behind by dropping the mask and walking away at the end of 6. in that context, I totally get what you mean. I was thinking within the context of the movies themselves exclusively.
Idk, I think you gotta be outta your mind to think Sam's visions and capability for violence and the entire arc of the core four and their relationship with Gale was accidentally wrapped up in a neat little bow at the end of Scream VI lol but to each their own
This franchise doesn't mean as much to me as it does to others, but I do love it, I would always be interested in seeing a new one, and this is the first time the choices being made (both politically and now seemingly narrative/financial?) are bumming me the fuck out. We don't need to make excuses for Scream, it's generally a very smart and successful franchise with a major fanbase that absolutely can and should speak up when the studio starts making choices that are questionable at best and unethical at worst
I love the series dearly but I’m definitely skipping seeing the new one in theatres because fuck the way they handled Barrera. I’ll watch it either streaming or other way.
