Turned off by the Barrera stuff obviously, but even as someone who enjoyed VI (although it might be my least favorite), I feel like this franchise desperately needs a shakeup. The series has been so focused on deconstructing tropes for so long that it's ironically created a handful of its own. Would love to see them attempt something really fresh with whatever's next.
During Scream 4, it’s supposedly the 10 year anniversary of the original killings, even though the movie is released 15 years after the original. Why then does Kirby acknowledge that the events of Scream 4 happened in 2011?
No reason for Dewey to be in it, and I say that as a huge fan of Arquette and his character. Best thing they could have done (besides not firing Barrera) was finally let go of the original story imo. Nw we need resolution for Gale's character, Sidney is coming back after having her "happy ending," and we're getting stacking levels of soap opera dramatics with the original cast and how convoluted the relationships/motivations have become
I respect her getting paid, but the way she keeps talking about her return is getting kinda annoying.
What is she supposed to do when she’s reached out to to discuss the movie? She exited a career defining role and then came back, I don’t think outlets like Deadline are going to want talk to her about anything else
She could just say she’s grateful and excited to be back or pretty much anything else. It’s not like she has to lie, but I don’t think she has to disrespect the new cast, who are thrown away now, by acting like this is all being done for artistic reasons. I respect her taking the money and everything, but she doesn’t have to keep framing it that way. Spyglass probably wouldn’t have even cared to pay to get her back for Scream 7 before all of this anyway. So it’s just lame seeing her act like that.
I really do not feel that’s what went down in that article, tbqh the piece is the dictionary definition of a nothing burger, but agree to disagree I guess
Well I think an actress pretending that a studio came back to her in a “respectful way”, after they just refused to pay her for the same franchise a year before, is a bummer and kinda shitty after the new cast was fucked over leading to her getting that pay day. It’s not like I think she’s a bad person. It’s just annoying to see, especially when Spyglass are pieces of shit and didn’t even respect her. I guess we have different dictionaries though.
I just don’t care a lot for another Sidney central film without the new cast. I’ll see it of course but this isn’t making me hype
It’d be cool to see them go in a New Nightmare direction but I think the best time for that was after 3.
Based on my quick research, this is apparently about fans that have been harassing the cast/crew and fans of Scream 7. I guess they think they’re fighting in her name to get justice for her. Not really sure what the screenshots are though.
Agreed, although Melissa saying she's taking a break from attending conventions means hopefully she's got an major movie role coming up or soon to be announced because she's insanely talented hopefully we'll see her in more acting roles going forward
So weird how they didn’t have time to work around Jenna’s schedule to keep her, but they have all this time to bullshit with whatever this mess will be.
