Listened to a few tracks and turned it off for Hot Mulligan. Might go back and try to finish later but I was not into what I heard or the single.
I can’t imagine he plays much of this or the last few albums live and focuses on the first 3-4 albums.
New album is odd but fairly unique. I'm into it if it's for one record and then he tries something new.
Between this and Zoetic I just haven't been into his output in a long time. Bummer, Of Men and Angels is still such a banger but this stuff is a bit of a head scratcher. edit: completely forgot about Sweet Shivers, which I also wasn't that into. I think the last project I enjoyed from him was Life Will Write the Words
I could say I enjoy it a lot, but it's still truly a head scratcher, that's true. It's like watching a mad scientist go off on his odd path, and that untethered enthusiasm is so nice to witness on the way, but I can't really relate as much - which is fine, I guess, a normal thing.
I was listening to it at the very moment of seeing the notification hahh, love the vocals on this track, I think it could fit on some of his older albums too. One new thing is that one melody layer, is it a mandoline maybe?
anyone thinking of going to the show tonight in Annaheim? I don't think it's sold out but I can't go anymore and would sell my tickets for really cheap.
I was thinking about it but never pulled the trigger, I have a friend who has tickets and can't go as well
