Damn, I’m gona miss this show a lot. This season felt a bit aimless but still so funny. Can’t wait to see what Danny McBride does next

Bummed its over but it was a fun ride. This being the series finale seemed rushed to me but oh well. The entire show was still consistently funny start to finish which is all I can really ask for.

My only issue is that there was no pay off to Lori trying on Aimee Leigh’s glasses. But the Kelvin and Keefe wedding was enough to make up for it

Lori and Aimee Leigh were just gals that were pals

We were pretty confident they were implying that Lori was in the love with her but sometimes straight people just accidentally do that in tv shows and movies so we weren’t sure

Just based on the fact that Kelvin and Judy are both lgbtq and I can picture Uncle Baby Billy saying it was the 70s everyone was sucking dick nothing gay about it

I interpreted any Lori weirdness as a red herring to try to make us think that maybe she actually was scheming to become the new Aimee Leigh or steal Eli's money or something

I mean one option is that maybe they changed how they wanted to deal with her character, another option is it was just a friend trying on her dead friend’s glasses

those were vibes I was getting too, that they were purposefully dropping a lot of weird things to make the viewer be very weary of Lori

I'm still not sure what is true about her and what's not. But ultimately the show decided it doesn't matter.

I would say S3 felt more like a proper ending and this season felt more like an epilogue/one last ride with these characters but that's totally okay, this season was absolutely hilarious and gave us some of the best scenes in the series. I'm really going to miss this cast; Danny was hilarious like always, Adam got the best post-Workaholics role of his career, Edi was a revelation, Goggins got to play one of the funniest comedy characters of the 2020s and Goodman got an amazing late-career role with this

I feel like McBride and Hill don't get enough credit for how consistently they're dropping extremely high quality seasons of television, I can't wait to see what they do next

I have nothing to add, just want to relive funny lines and moments from the show. THere's so many lines and actions in this show that are just amazing lol

    Die rad.

So my question to you all now that its over, how would you rank this compared to Danny and Jody's two other HBO shows. I know this one gets a lot of praise and I totally agree, but my ranking is such.

    1) Eastbound and Down (no one can touch Kenny Powers)
Season 1 and last season were my favorites. The other ones had good moments.
    2) Vice Principals
Fun series that ended at perfect time
    3) Gemstones
Best supporting cast, but some of the plot lines just didnt do it for me.

I’d probably put Vice Principals last only because it was so short. Love all 3 and hoping we get a 4th.

Never finished vice principals and haven’t seen eastbound and down since it ended so the righteous gemstones is my favorite.

  24. recency bias says gemstones but the goggins "best of" clips that pop up on my reels from vice principals still make me laugh so hard.

    i think:
    gemstones
    VP
    eastbound

with the thinnest margins between them
