The most recent episode near the end when Eli is watching Uncle Baby Billy and Judy on stage and clearly being touched by how great she’s doing was genuinely emotional. Pretty surprising how they pull these moments off.
I think Judy is way less likable — Jesse is an annoying loudmouth but Judy is borderline sociopathic But yeah it would have been so easy to take the idea of these characters and make them soulless caricatures. That’s definitely what I expected going in
