This is why I love McBride/Hill's shows. I fully assumed that Schwartzmann's character would be going after individual family members trying to get them to slip up for an entire season long arc, so I was genuinely surprised that he was dead. Those other two corpses were absolutely fucked up, not just gun shots, so I can't wait to find out what happened there I'm also glad they're giving John Goodman more to do, and that Eric Andre will seemingly have a bigger part than I expected. Already a hilarious start
How did they pull off some of these scenes mid pandemic? That’s a lot of people in their megachurch and in the Lissons’
There’s like 10 completely separate megachurch people with an incentive to go after the journalist, so it’s definitely not a sure thing that it was Eli
My half baked theory after episode two… I like the idea that the blood on Eli is a red herring and he is getting back into wrestling. My thought is that the Lissons are responsible for Swartzman’s death, because they caught wind of the story and wanted to prevent it from getting in the way of Jesse’s involvement with them. Then later in the season they will take aim at Eli/ Jesse’s siblings when it becomes clear that they are also standing in the way.
Danny McBride could read a grocery list and I’d be dying laughing. He steals every scene he’s ever in.
I didn’t think I would ever find anyone funnier than McBride but Edi might have dethroned him between this and Vice Principals.
It’s interesting that they’re hinting towards the fact that the pandemic is/was happening but not openly showing it yet
Tonight felt a little all over the place, the Kelvin storyline especially feels a little out of place. But still funny
“You save that piss for my chest” my be the most LOL thing I’ve ever heard anyone say in televisions (just started this today, on the S1 finale now). So damn good.
Yeah I'm not a fan of the Kelvin story so far, and it also reminds me a lot of the Workaholics episode with the Christian themed strongmen (The Lord's Force I think) lol. I wonder if Adam brought that up to them at all This show is definitely at its best when the main three are together, the scenes with them trying to figure out what happened were killing me
