I don't like Gregg's vocals more than Masons at all. I like them both together, I think the dynamic worked great on Stray(S). That being said, Home from Cartographer is probably my favorite TROW song
Doesn't look like this ever got posted, but here's Birdless Cage live. Edit: Oh, it did. I just didn't scroll back far enough. Leaving it up because it's worth listening to again if you haven't in awhile.
Getting a new TROW song soon: "Birdless Cage" Music For Everyone / A Compilation To Benefit The ACLU, by Collective Confusion Records, Sub City Records
I wonder what the studio version sounds like, I think that live one sounds amazing so I hope it's pretty close
It's out on the Music For Everyone band camp page. You have to buy the entire digital album, but its only $10 for 27 songs - and it's for a good cause.
Guys, I'm just now getting a chance to listen to "Birdless Cage" and wow. Very well could be my favorite TROW track.
That's what I like to hear. Listening as soon as I get home. ...ooooohhhh you can't even stream it. Food or music hmmmmm
Studio version of "Birdless Cage" is so good. I really like the live version too, not sure yet which is my favorite. This got me excited for the new album even more.
What the heck is going on with this album? I've been checking almost every day this summer for some type of announcement.
Last I talked to Mason he said it was up in the air because they were reaching out to labels. They were aiming for late summer though.
Yeah, I still check for updates once a week. I'm surprised they haven't been signed, but I've found everything through Bandcamp, iTunes, online and manageable through Simple Stereo. I want a new album, or at least a time frame. I really appreciated how nothing else was released close to the time frame No Matter How Narrow and I could just listen to that album.
hard for labels to justify signing a band that they know arn't really going to tour... trust me I know.. from experience haha
I'm not sure, but I've looked into it and it looks like they've never been a heavy touring band. am I wrong? Also I think its been a while since they have. I think the band is more of a part time gig for them now, I could be wrong though this was a while ago I looked into that stuff.
That's very true. It definitely started that way because they were all focused on school. I have no idea if they still are now. From the YouTube vids that there are they don't even sound very good live either.
I can't wait to hear what they're up to on the new album. Hope it gets releases soon. Oh, and a new Tigers on Trains with Christian would be amazing. Antarctica in Color was good, but man, I missed Christian on there.
It definitely seemed like there was some complaints from the few fans they have about Christians absence. I remember at the time Mason sent out a message saying that it was meant to be a solo record and that the next ToT record would be more collaborative than ever. Since then he has gone on to have his solo project Souveneer so maybe he can channel his solo stuff into that and Christian will be back if or when there's ever another ToT record. Who knows.
Yeah they've only done shows in the New York area as far as I know. I've almost made the trek up there once or twice. When they release this new one I'll for sure make my way to a show over there.
