Outside of rock it probably doesn’t matter as much. But rock music like this in general has such a small audience now that opening for bigger bands is almost the only way to get people to pay attention. Reviews, write ups with some publications help but there’s so much content out there, having people check you out bc you are opening for a bigger band is definitely still the best way to get people to listen.

 

I emailed the band, and they will send you a digital download if you paypal them $10, and that includes bonus tracks as well.

Give them a couple of days to respond. It took them a 4 days to respond to me.

 

One of the bands playing their record release show is Gatherers, they posted about it on their Facebook and Instagram.

This is the one with Nathan Husseys on it, and they say it's they're darkest song.

 

I’m probably going to hold off on this one until I have the whole thing. Can you noticeably tell that it’s Hussey?

Edit: write up says gang vocals so probably not.

 

Didn't get a chance to hear it, will in like the next 10 min, but yeah I'd imagine not cause it's gang vocals.

 

I really love the song, can't really hear Nathan.. thats okay tho... haha i guess

 

I broke down and listened. It's okay.

 

I enjoy their more upbeat softer songs more than the darker ones so not sure if this will be one of my favorites, but I've liked everything this band has done so I'm not worried. Half the album is already out there though, they might as well release this thing to the supporters.

 

Yeah that's why I didn't really want to listen. Hopefully the unreleased stuff is the better stuff. I don't love any of these 5 except Birdless Cage.

 

Dang, I love "Birdless Cage" and "Colored Out" a bunch and I really like the rest, including "Bask", it surpassed my expectations from the description.

First review I've seen of this thing, it was actually posted on the 11th, this sounds like it's their best going by this. 4.7 out of 5 on sputnik.

Wow so freakin excited

 

I was listening to Varuna in the car today. Still such a huge sounding first record with so many layers. Every release they’ve had has something special about it.
